Photographer & painter
Victor Chevalier is a self-taught artist based in Nice. Passionate about the visual arts since his teenage years, his work today focuses mainly on photography and painting projects. Through his photographs, Victor captures authentic scenes from everyday life, transforming them into visual narratives that reflect his personal outlook and observation of the world around him. Many years after he began his career in photography, Victor discovered that stencilling and painting were a way of capturing never-before-seen moments. Scenes that had previously existed only in the recesses of his imagination. In his paintings, both on canvas and on murals, Victor plays with the blurred boundaries between reality and his imagination. He skilfully handles the composition of silhouettes, colors and layers to give life to unique visual scenes, inspired and nourished by life's simple, meaningful moments.
